Re: Ondisk Upgrade stalled 5%

I'm guessing the objects won't re-align until all disks are on v2.5 format (which we don't have).

In total we have 5 Hosts - esx01 to esx05, currently esx01 & esx02 are still showing as v2 disk format, esx03, esx04 & esx05 are showing as v2.5.

 

Looking at the logs I can see the esx01 & esx02 hosts are logging errors constantly into /var/log/syslog (unsure if this is related)

Are you using Mandatory profiles? In that case you need an additional GPO setting in the UEM GPO to capture the personal certificates.

This is what the UEM Admin Guide tells you about that GPO setting:

Certificate support for mandatory profiles

Use this setting to enable the use of personal certificates in a mandatory profile, which is normally not possible. In addition to enabling this setting, you also need to create a Flex config file with the “Personal Certificates” Windows Common Setting. NOTE: This setting does not have to be enabled when you are using roaming or local profiles.

 

If this doesn't help, please send me a UEM logfile in debug mode so that I can furter troubleshoot.

Error 1905 is 'The specified printer has been deleted.'

This strongly indicates to me that another process is fiddling with the printers at the same time UEM is trying to manage them.

Do you use AppVolumes? Are you sure local printer redirection is disabled?

Also, when I run a Time Machine backup, will it also backup the Windows information stored in Fusion, or do I need to run a separate backup for that?

Time Machine is not a reliable way to backup virtual machines, I will leave the technical details on the why that is.

 

You should really run a separate backup for the virtual machine.

In order to do so, shut down Fusion and make a copy of the whole virtual machine to an external disk.

If you have made snapshots in your virtual machine, then commit those before making the backup.

Из этого куска vmkernel видно, что lsi_mr3 драйвер абортит команды чтения\записи  в сторону устройства naa.644a8420075840001de58470badf437f

Попробуйте обновить драйвер до последней версии, которая сейчас существует и обновить прошивки контроллера и дисков.

am able to start download of VMware Data recovery by using my office ID which has VMware License attached/entitled.

 

as the messages suggest you should try to reach out to your VMware TAM, or VMware Account Admin of your organization or sales vendor.

Thanks iiliev, so i have found this but im unsure on how i then get the workflow to run based on the answer of this script, i presume its a custom descision i add in to the workflow with this code but then how does this know to then run the next step if the answer from the script is a yes?

powercli 6.0 is working, i'm having a problem with powercli 6.3 as mentioned in first post

 

I am a limited user in vcenter so i don't have read access to root and this seems to cause the problem with 6.3

in the previous post i mentioned powershell versions i was testing on.

If we initialize the raid aren't all blocks [Strip] on the disks that size? no matter how VMware or other OS within the VM uses it?

I would need to do some real world testing like you said.

Hello,

 

I created another thread for clearly.

 

I used server HP DL380G9 and VMware image ISO: VMware-ESXi-5.5.0-Update3-3568722-HPE-550.9.5.0.33-Apr2016.

 

I think this is the latest version ESXi5.5u3 for this server.

 

If you recommended other Image, please let me know.

SRM 6.1 Recovery for Stretched storage executes Prepare storage step twice

Hi

 

This query is regarding SRM 6.1 recovery workflow (failover) for stretched storage using SRA. (Policy based replication using Storage array adapter)

 

Failover Workflow report of SRM indicates issuing of SRM command preparefailover twice to SRA running at Protected site

 

one after the step "Suspend non-critical VMs at recovery site for live migration"

     4. Prepare stretched storage for VM migration at protected site

           4.1.2. Prepare stretched storage consistency groups for VM migration at protected site

 

another one after step "Unregister VMs at protected site"

14. Prepare storage for migration at protected site

     14.1.2. Prepare storage consistency groups at protected site for migration

 

What is the difference and workings between step 4.1.2  and Step 14.1.2

 

Again in unplanned Failover, Step 4 will be skipped, but Step 14 will be executed. Please explain

Please register the ThinApp by using ThinReg.exe or by installing the ThinApp MSI. When you register, the file association will be done automatically on the system.
